In 1918, Henry L. Rivers founded a drainage and municipal engineering services consulting practice in Greenville, North Carolina. In 1959, the company evolved into Rivers & Associates, Inc., a privately held general business corporation providing services focused throughout all of eastern North Carolina. Now over 100 years since its original founding, Rivers is a full service multi-discipline practice providing civil engineering, planning, surveying and landscape architecture services to federal, state and local governments; medical and educational institutions; residential and commercial development; and industry. Our primary service sectors include land development, institutions, urban planning & design, parks & recreation, utility infrastructure and transportation with expertise in water and wastewater utilities, drainage and stormwater management, street and roadway design, recreation and parks, streetscapes and urban design, and site design. Rivers’ corporate office remains located in the center of Greenville, the commercial, educational, cultural and medical hub of eastern North Carolina. A branch office located in Raleigh, NC provides services throughout the “Triangle” region and beyond.
