About RK Door Systems
Entrance doors form an essential part of any building, providing security and thermal insulation as well as a statement of design and reflection of it’s owner. All our front doors are available in a range of specifications and finishes and combined with traditional or modern designs they will make an entrance to any home special. Our entrance doors are suitable for both new build and replacement entrances and we understand that no two doors are the same size. With this in mind, we've designed the systems to allow you the freedom to specify your own size, being anywhere between 860mm to 1150mm wide and 1900 to 2250mm high. Sizes outside of these dimensions are also available to order, up to 1250mm wide x 2500mm high and by adding sidelights or fanlights to your front door you really can create a truly impressive entrance! High thermal insulation reduces loss of heat and therefore lowers energy costs. Even our Standard door has a 44mm thick insulated centre panel and with triple glazed panels throughout, our doors offer high heat insulation that far exceeds UK and European Building Regulation requirements, our Premium door is also suitable for Passive House construction. All RK Systems doors far exceed the current recommended energy efficiency regulations. A doors energy efficiency is measured as a 'U value' and new doors must have a minimum U value of 1.8W/m2K (1.6W/m2K in Scotland) or less, with lower numbers being better. A typical wooden door might have a U value of around 2.5W/m2K and a lot of new doors will be just meeting the basic requirement of 1.80W/m2K...
