About Road Safety Commission
The Road Safety Commission is a State Government agency with a big vision – to make every journey safe. Led by Road Safety Commissioner Adrian Warner, the passionate team that make up the Road Safety Commission is committed to reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on Western Australian roads by at least 50% by 2030. This could save up to 723 lives and prevent approximately 8,000 people suffering from serious and life-changing injuries over the next decade. To reach this target and deliver on the priorities set out in Driving Change – the Road Safety Strategy for Western Australia, the team works collaboratively with all levels of government, the private and not-for-profit sectors and the community. The Road Safety Commission uses the latest data, insights and technology to inform innovative policies, programs and public awareness campaigns addressing the following five priority areas: 1. Safe road users 2. Safe roads 3. Safe vehicles 4. Safe speeds 5. Post-crash response. Everybody who uses WA roads is important. The Road Safety Commission works to improve road safety outcomes for all road users ranging from drivers of heavy haulage vehicles and family cars to vulnerable road users including people walking and riding bikes, seniors, people with disability, motorcyclists and eRideable users.
