About Robot 1199

Robot1199 is a drawing proyect of Juan Pablo Baene. He born in Bogota (Colombia) and currently living in Barcelona (Spain), he is finishing a Doctorate degree in Digital Painting. His art has a particular aesthetic which juggles the ideas of realism and imagination. Currently, the focus of his work is to create installation spaces composed of many small ink and watercolor drawings. These drawings build tímeless dream worlds and use simple images utilizing lots of white space. Strongly influenced by his folkloric experiences in Colombia and his life as an immigrant in Europe, he presents the absurdities of life in his work.
