About Rock Scars

Founded in 2015, Rock Scars is a purpose-driven movement that exists to redefine beauty and challenge harmful societal norms around skin, scars, and appearance. Living with visible skin conditions or scars can affect a person’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Mainstream definitions of beauty have long excluded those with differences, pressuring people to pursue perfection that simply does not exist. From expensive products to cosmetic treatments, many are made to feel they must “fix” themselves in order to be accepted. At Rock Scars, we reject this narrative entirely. Our founder, Valentine Mabaso, established Rock Scars after living with Atopic Dermatitis for over a decade. Her personal journey inspired her to use her voice and visibility to advocate for others facing similar experiences. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “You were never meant to blend in. You were born to stand out.” What We Do We are more than a brand. We are a community. A safe space.
