About Rocket Academy Dual Credit Advanced Technology Center
Rocket Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school for 11th and 12th grade students in the manufacturing space authorized by the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District. The Rocket Academy will offer traditional graduation required courses, math, science, english, etc. in a non-traditional format where standards are taught in a more applied manner. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year offering one career focused pathway, Precision Machining, that teaches both manual mill and lathe skills and then progress to CNC Operational training. In the 2024-25 school year, we added HVAC and Welding Pathways. In 2025-2026 we will be adding the Industrial Maintenance pathway. All pathways are delivered as dual credit courses through Lakeshore Technical College so students will graduate with not only a high school diploma, but also a 1-year certificate in one of the pathways and potentially multiple industry certifications that should make them very competitive job seekers and allow them to make an immediate impact for their future employers.
