About Rocket Ventures

Founded in 2007, the Rocket Ventures organization fundamentally is a resource for capital and commercialization assistance to Northwest Ohio technology-based companies. Signed client companies are eligible for funding consideration and automatically access our professional team, who provide unparalleled knowledge, assistance and track records of success in launching early-stage tech companies. The Rocket Venture Fund, LLC, the funding arm of Rocket Ventures, was capitalized in 2007 with $7.5 million of private funds from Northwest Ohio investors and $6 million of a State of Ohio Third Frontier grant award. Funds remain for additional investment activity. Most funding deals take the form of an equity position and funds are released in tranches based upon milestone achievement. The Rocket Venture Fund often co-invests with other venture capital funds, leveraging greater funding and commercialization assets for company success and investment exit. Rocket Ventures also makes available to its clients pre-investment funds for prototype development, technology validation and other technology and market development work. In partnership with Northwest Ohio’s Edison Technology Incubator, operated by the University of Toledo, funds have been used to fund work on behalf of client companies by third-party providers based in Ohio. This powerful resource has enabled several of our companies to leverage grant funding, institutional investment, and even strategic partnerships and customers.
