Fifteen years ago our founder, Yvonne Jiew, made a radical shift from a successful digital marketer to global gem sourcing specialist….and has never looked back. Yvonne’s passion began with a jewelry engineering course in her homeland of Australia. She fell in love with the creative process immediately, rapidly progressing to lapidary work. As she sought out unusual specimens for her projects, the allure of searching for precious gems directly at the source became irresistible, and Rockstoc LLC was born. Today, you will find Yvonne traveling extensively each year in an exhaustive search to find the best and rarest stones available. Although we source fine stones worldwide, our emphasis is no-heat Burmese rubies, sapphires, and fine spinel. Rockstoc's company mission is to work directly with local lapidary artists and artisanal miners, ensuring that the profits made from the sale of our stones go back into the local community to enhance their way of life. As one of the few women in this aspect of the gem trade industry, Yvonne is keenly aware of the roles women play in local gem trade networks, and actively seeks to support and sustain their involvement. In all aspects of Rockstoc, colored stones are our passion.
