About Rodwell Memorials

Rodwell Memorials was established in 1909. After serving in the Navy during the second world war, Mr Richard (Dick) Gunner started working for Rodwell Memorials. Over the years this is where he gained all his expertise and knowledge that we still offer to the public today. In 1965, Dick took over the company himself from the founder Mr Rodwell. In 1970, Mr Steve Gunner started to help his father with the business also learning the skilled art and trade of the monumental stone mason. Both Steve and his wife Linda took the company over from Dick in 1987. In 1995 another family member starting working for Rodwell Memorials, the nephew of the owners. Gavin Sutton did his work experience at the family business, after leaving school Gavin decided he wanted to follow in his family’s footsteps and learn the skill of monumental stone mason. Gavin Sutton took over as the owner of Rodwell Memorials in July 2019 following the former owner retirement. In our 100 year history we have helped many of 1000s clients, many thorough the generations. Today we offer the same bespoke, personal and caring services to generations of families, many becoming our friends. Our ethos today is the same as in 1909, the needs of our clients come first.
