Romitek has identified a neglected activity within the wire rod industry. In an otherwise highly automated manufacturing process, only one area still relies completely on human intervention - trimming, inspection, and sampling of wire rod ends, a labor intensive and often dangerous task. The Romitek team has developed a novel method to address this problem and has invented a mechatronic system, able to automatically trim, inspect and sample the wire. The unique solution eliminates the manual activity completely, and in doing so reduces scrap, increases yield and lower the negative environmental impact.
