About Room For Change
ROOM FOR CHANGE (winner of the Dutch SDG Award 2023 & Omarm Prijs 2022) is a social responsibility program that uses the power of the hospitality world to make a positive impact in the lives of people who are (temporarily) unhoused. Since the start in 2021, 18 changemaking hotels have enabled more than 180 people to rebuild their lives. Hotels choose to join our community of changemaking hotels because of: 🌟 The positive influence on your employees & employee branding Employees admire an employer who contributes to society and the city’s livability 🌟 A ready-made way to implement your CSR Contribute to the SDGs while not having to change any of your daily business! 🌟 The tangible and visible impact on a human life, in your own hotel Instead of anonymously donating money really seeing the impact you are making 🌟 The General Manager's intrinsic motivation to do good As Floris Licht says: ‘We have the ability to be a source for good, we should use it!’ 🏨Since 2021, hotels make one or more rooms available for people who are temporarily unhoused. A stay of three to six months allows these people to recover and work towards sustainable housing and, if desired, work. During their stay in the hotels, participants are supported and guided by local organizations such as De Regenboog Groep in Amsterdam. Each participant pays a fee of 450 euros per month (€15 per night). 📍 Currently we’re active in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Eindhoven & soon Utrecht. Our ambition is to continue to grow to the 10 largest cities in our country. We hope that ROOM FOR CHANGE can eventually serve as a pilot for other countries. Want to know more? Get in touch: suzanne@thepresent.world
