Rooney Family Law is a specialist Scottish family law firm. As our name suggests, family law is all we do. While our head office is based in Uddingston, we have locations throughout Scotland and act for clients in every part of the country. We are committed to providing clear, pragmatic, and compassionate legal advice. We have significant experience in all aspects of family law, including: Divorce (contested and uncontested) Financial provision on divorce Separation agreements and financial settlements Pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements Cohabitation claims under section 28 of the Family Law (Scotland) Act 2006 Child law matters, including residence, contact and relocation Adoption We are a modern, paper-light firm and use LEAP as our cloud-based practice management system. We offer remote consultations via Zoom or telephone and aim to be accessible and flexible in how we deliver advice to clients across Scotland. We also take a different approach to how we charge for our services. Unlike the industry standard of six-minute (or even ten-minute) billing units, we use three-minute units. This improves transparency and ensures clients are only charged for time actually spent. Where appropriate, we also offer fixed fees for certain undefended divorce actions. We issue weekly itemised billing statements to keep clients fully informed and in control of their legal costs. We also offer instalment options and accept all major payment methods.
