About Root Counseling
We are a husband and wife owned virtual mental health practice. The motivation behind beginning our practice was rooted in our desire to be home with our children and to provide therapy outside of the confines of managed care and insurance. Through our education, clinical and life experience we have adapted a trauma-informed approach in working with our clients. We realize however that trauma does not effect all of our clients. In these cases we see therapy not as a way of thinking more clearly but instead a practice of being present with whatever authentic experiences show up in session. Being present allows for moments of not thinking and ultimately draws us closer to the truth of our situation.
