About Rooted in Nature Norfolk

The aims of Rooted in Nature are to increase communities’ awareness of, access and connectivity to local green spaces, waterways and areas of natural beauty, through the provision of active, engaging learning and recreational activities. Rooted in Nature provides activities that are open to anyone, with a particular focus on encouraging participation from young people who may be deemed vulnerable to range social and economic concerns and challenges. Rooted in Nature works to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities by providing a diversity of activities that increase physical activity, improve self-confidence and self-esteem, and increases local opportunities for learning and education. The aims will be carried out by the following objectives: To provide qualified canoeing, kayaking, archery and bushcraft instruction for people with additional and or emotional support needs, their families, carers and communities. To offer opportunities for training and personal- development, to promote and further beneficiaries employability skills, including the provision of coaching and tuition, and associated steps including developing complementary volunteering and training programmes. To increase local communities’ capacity to self-sustain, actively encourage and support access to local green spaces and places of natural beauty, to aid, promote and maintain personal wellbeing. To provide support and encouragement to increase confidence and skills, to augment participation in healthy physical exercise, with a particular focus on paddle-sports for health and wellbeing. To work in partnership with community and voluntary-based organisations to share knowledge and skills and develop community assets and resources for people who are vulnerable to a range of health and social care concerns and related supported agencies.
