The Rosalie Murrey Memorial Foundation (RMMF) was founded in honor of Rosalie “Birdie” Murrey, a joyful and resilient child who lived with multiple disabilities and inspired everyone she met. Guided by her legacy, RMMF is committed to creating a world where every child, regardless of ability, can access the care, connection, and early learning experiences they deserve. We focus on transforming systems of care and early education to be more inclusive, responsive, and equitable for children with disabilities and their families. Our flagship initiative, Birdie’s Nest, is a first-of-its-kind full-day, inclusive early learning center that will integrate therapies, education, and family support. Set to open in Spokane, Washington, in 2027, Birdie’s Nest will serve as a replicable model for inclusive childcare. RMMF also leads community events and advocacy efforts that celebrate and support children with complex medical needs, developmental delays, and sensory sensitivities. Our annual Accessible, Accommodating, and Inclusive Carousel Event draws over 1,200 attendees and provides a joyful, barrier-free experience for families. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, we collaborate with educators, healthcare professionals, families, policymakers, and philanthropists to drive meaningful change. Whether we are leading workforce development, conducting a childcare needs assessment, or hosting a sensory-friendly event, we are united by one mission: to honor Rosalie’s life by building a more inclusive future for every child.
