About Rosedale Funeral Home
We came from very humble beginnings when we took a leap of faith to open the doors of Rosedale Funeral Home back in 2004. Our desks were up-cycled from a skip and we borrowed furniture and pictures from friends and family to ensure that the funeral home looked peaceful and homely. We established Rosedale to follow our desire to work for an independent family business where care comes before profit, and we could focus on the needs of the bereaved families in our community. Our aim is to deliver a unique funeral for each family that reflects the life of the deceased and we offer ideas and guidance for making the funeral individual and special. We offer a personal, knowledgeable and dignified service to ensure that every service accords with the beliefs and values of those we serve. We are committed to providing comprehensive, itemised pricing information within our price lists and on our website. We have signed the Fair Funeral Pledge and recognise that funerals can be expensive and many people struggle with the cost. We are open about our most affordable options and offer a wide range of options to enable those we serve to make informed choices that are within their means. Many people avoid thinking about funerals unless they really must – then at the time of bereavement they may not be in the best position to make important decisions. We encourage people to seek out the information they need, help them find it, and actively support them to define their own funeral wishes before they die, either as part of a pre-paid funeral plan or simply through an expression of wishes. It’s quite difficult to get people to talk about the ‘D’ word, but at Rosedale we like to think we are quite good at it. It’s really important to break down taboos, dispel myths and encourage conversations around death and dying - and we do a lot of it, encouraging countless people to start difficult conversations and talk about their wishes around their death and funeral.
