About Rota Jovem

Rota Jovem is a non-profit youth association, promoting and supporting activities for young people since 1992. The secret of the association is to be an open door to new projects, an opportunity for young people to realize their ideas and dreams with the support of an organization. We currently have about 1600 members who participate and promote activities in areas as diverse as intercultural learning, participation and volunteering, Europe and youth, international mobility, environmental awareness, sport, among others. Our impact extends beyond Cascais, both nationally and internationally, through the many international mobility projects carried out. Throughout these years, many young people have been here and have participated and created new activities, always in a peer learning logic. We believe that knowledge sharing is facilitated by peer identification and that creating a space of trust is key to experiencing and daring. MISSION To contribute to the promotion of active citizenship among youth, with the purpose of participating in the construction of a society with more conscious, socially committed, participative and creative citizens. VISION We want a society where young people have space to create a supportive and inclusive future through creative participation, peer learning and non-formal education. We want to put the youth to fulfill their dreams! VALUES We believe that: - Young people should play an active role in building society - Intercultural experiences can create a union between all, making us closer - Everyone has the potential and are able to realize their dreams - All our actions and attitudes must respect Human Rights - When people have fun they are better, enjoy life better and are more tolerant
