About Rotaract Club of Singapore Management University (SMU)
Rotaract Club is a youth development club that emphasizes "service over self", as well as achieving fellowship through community service, professional development, and club service. We strive to provide our members with learning experiences and opportunities. There are 2 distinct areas in which our club functions: Firstly, our multiple community service projects cater to a wide range of beneficiaries - underprivileged children, elderly in need, children with autism, and down syndrome. These diverse projects not only help volunteers to develop communication and interpersonal skills but also enhance their leadership quality by being a part of the organizing committees of one of the projects. Secondly, the club allows the members to explore their interests through our professional development workshops (e.g. photography workshops, dialect workshops). Furthermore, our networking session helps them interact with experts in various career spheres. We have very recently introduced a new venture in partnership with the Rotary Learning Institute of Singapore (RLIS) where our members can develop professionally by working under a mentor and providing administrative support to the RLIS. Through all of these efforts, we hope to provide our members with ample opportunities to develop in a community empowered by purpose.
