About Rotary Club of The Hudson Valley

Non-profit, tax-exempt charity, part of the renowned Rotary International network. Our Club is relatively new (chartered February 2021), and is comprised of a diverse group of businesspersons, community activists, and professionals with one uniting characteristic: we are passionate about making the world a better place. We focus on projects and activities that would have a meaningful impact on the community. Thus, immediately upon being chartered, we hit the road running with an ambitious Public Health Initiative, an outreach program for early detection of breast cancer lesions based on the iBreastExam, an innovative device based on new technology which involves no radiation, no surgery, no drugs - and gives results in minutes. This was a landmark development in access to preventative health care. Over 70,000 young women below 40 are diagnozed annually with breast cancer in the United States. While early detection is the key to combating this ailment, most victimis are diagnozed too late due to various systemic problems - and over 1,000 young women fall victim annually. We are proud to have brought this early detection program, for the first time ever, to New York State: We held outreach camps in New Rochelle and Peekskill, and intend to hold outreaches throughout the community. About 200 women have already availed of this Program. This Public Health Initiative is illustrative of the meaningful projects we conduct. For example, another initiative we’re working on is “Empowering Youth Through Enterprise Education”, which project seeks to increase opportunities for youth through practical, divergent, “what if” thinking.
