About Rothschild Capital Partners
Rothschild Capital Partners is the result of more than one hundred years of the Rothschild family’s involvement in business and investing. David Rothschild leads Rothschild Capital Partners as its Chief Executive Officer. In 1890, David’s great grandfather and his brother started the Sun Life Insurance Company in Baltimore. David’s father, Stan, was Chief Investment Officer of Sun Life and became CEO of the Company in the 1960s. In 1972, Stan sold Sun Life and launched The Rothschild Company, an investment management firm. David grew up listening to stories from his father about investing, managing the family’s wealth, and Stan’s experiences in the public markets. After starting his career running a systems integration firm and then working seven years as a Wall Street analyst covering enterprise software and communications infrastructure companies, David Rothschild launched a technology fund in 1997. The fund portfolio included a mix of public equities and venture investments leveraging a long-term investment lens – framed by a thesis that capital markets investors often overreact to short-term news and underestimate the impact of disruptive innovation. In 2001, David’s firm, Rothschild Capital Partners, took on investment and operations responsibility for Rothschild Capital Management, the successor to The Rothschild Company.
