Route 66 St. Louis/ St. Louis Transitions is the publisher of two Route 66 St. Louis books, a history book and a cookbook. The Route 66 St. Louis Cookbook: The Mother Lode of Recipes from the Mother Road hit the market in April 2009 and sold out of its first two printings. For its third printing, the cookbook was revised into an expanded second edition, which was released in late October 2012. Route 66 St. Louis: From the Bridges to the Diamonds was released in July 2010. It is a large book covering Route 66 in the St. Louis area in close detail. It contains interviews with many of the families, over 1000 photos and many period advertisements. Limited quantities remain of both titles. In addition to the books, the company sells handmade Route 66 and retro-themed items. These items range from bookmarks to aprons made from designer fabrics, home decor items such as oven mitts and potholders, placemats, and pillows, and a wide variety of handmade gift items. In addition, we sell vintage linens and small home furnishings and repurposed items made from vintage linens.
