About Roxburgh McEwan Architects
http://www.roxburghmcewan.co.uk/ We are a design led office, focused on residential projects for individual clients but with a body of work which also includes developer housing, master planning and a number of small scale commercial and leisure developments. Completed projects include many renovations of and extensions to Edinburgh's beautiful buildings, affordable and private housing on the Isle-of-Mull, a private house on the Greek Island of Keffalonia, a new build cafe in Edinburgh (now taken over and reconfigured by Starbucks), sustainable residential developments for Blue Property Ltd, a Scottish Boathouse and a substantial reworking of a farmhouse steading on the Scottish Coast. Liz Roxburgh graduated from Edinburgh University in 1989. She worked with Rob Hunter Architects before setting up EA Roxburgh Architects in 1992 to design and realise a number of residential commissions for private clients. Many similar commissions followed with the practice expanding to take on a wider variety of work. Marcus McEwan, a graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture trained and spent a number of years at Allan Murray Architects before joining EA Roxburgh Architects in 2003. In 2008 the Practice evolved to become Roxburgh McEwan Architects. Our core team includes Senior Associate and Architectural tutor Neil Mochrie; Associates Jane Ingram and Eoin McMahon; and Architectural Assistants Beth Hunter and Leo Henderson. With each project we strive to interpret our client's requirements to create individual, elegant and innovative solutions. This approach begins with a thorough analysis of the brief, exploring the potential within each site, investigating the technical and material choices available, whilst working closely with each client and their budget towards the delivery of their building. Recent projects have increased our expertise in low energy and sustainable design, including the application of renewable technologies within existing buildings.
