About Rugby NY

Rugby NY is a USA Rugby recognized State Based Rugby Organization responsible for administering youth and high school rugby in the state of New York. Rugby NY was formed in 2010 after a meeting of youth and high school rugby stakeholders from across New York whose mission is to teach the concepts of fair play, sportsmanship, and camaraderie to boys and girls in grades K-12 across New York State through the sport of rugby. Rugby NY is responsible for staging the annual NY State High School Championships and providing resources and programming for players, coaches, referees, educators and parents. Our goal is to provide every school age boy and girl the opportunity to play the fastest growing team sport in America and to expand the number of teams and participants playing rugby across New York State. Youth Rugby NY, Inc. is a not-for-profit Corporation as defined in subparagraph (a)(5) of section 102 of Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York and a Type B corporation as defined in Section 201 of Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 non-profit.
