About Rules Brewing Company

Our mission is to keep the spirit of America's pastime alive through euphorically brewed craft beer & ale. The company was founded based on the inspiration of Alexander Joy Cartwright, the "Father of Baseball" and Baseball Hall of Famer, for his devotion and development of the game of baseball as we know it today. The "Knickerbocker Rules", written by Cartwright, are the "rules" by which serves as the basis of today's modern game of baseball, and, the namesake of our first brew, the "Knickerbocker Rules IPA". Our company's founder, Robert Cartwright, is part of this baseball family legacy, and is not only obsessed with the history of baseball, but is obsessed with keeping the spirit of the game alive through euphorically brewed beer & ale. Robert serves as our company "Commissioner". On our board, in an active leadership and advisory role is Alexander Joy Cartwright IV, the great great grandson of Alexander Joy Cartwright Jr. A true beer fanatic and Ambassador to the game, we are lucky to have him on the team. Also on our team of Advisors is Peter J. Nash, baseball historian, filmmaker, author, bar owner, and former hip-hop artist from the group 3rd Bass. Peter's passion & love of history of the game of baseball, & as owner of the place where "Red Sox Nation" was born, "Nuf Ced McGreevey's" in Boston are key ingredients as we grow Rules Brewing Co. in the future.
