About Run Malibu

Established in 2009 and based in Malibu, California, Run Malibu is now in its 16th year of hosting running events along the iconic coastline. Founded by Malibu locals, our event was born out of a desire to share the natural beauty of the area and the benefits of an active, outdoor lifestyle. Over the last 16 years, we’ve welcomed thousands of participants year after year from all over the world, selling out 6 years in a row. Through our half marathon, 5k and kids runs, we offer a premium and welcoming experience for participants of all levels. While race weekend is a very empowering and celebratory moment for our participants, it's the journey to reach the starting line that makes the event so special and impactful. Anyone who runs or participates in sports knows the benefits carry far beyond sport itself. We maintain a year-round commitment to supporting and engaging the Run Malibu community through our kids’ run program, locally-led runs, brand partnerships / opportunities and storytelling. We believe that a running event is so much more than a start and finish line - with intention, it can be an unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting impact on people and unshakable brand loyalty. We are committed to the greater good and believe in leaving a lasting positive impact on the spaces we share with our community. We are partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu and have donated over $250k to their program in the last decade. The Boys and Girls Club of Malibu provides free mental health and social support services to anyone in the Malibu community and offers enrichment programs and afterschool care for kids and families. They are an essential part of the community - we are proud to be aligned and excited to continue building together.
