The essence of Runners with Beards extends well past running or beards, and into what we can all do to discover more about ourselves, and the people and places around us. The name Runners with Beards was born from a simple observation. In a group of runners, it's often the ones with beards who are the 'crazy' ones. The ones that push. The misfits to clean-cut society. This stereotype of the rugged runner became a metaphor for the people in any group who push outside of comfort zones, to discover something more, for themselves and for others.
