About Rural Life Living Museum

The Rural Life Living Museum is a visitor attraction and open air museum near Farnham in the Surrey Hills which collects and preserves objects associated with rural life. The site is home to heritage buildings, machinery, textiles and historical objects which together show visitors the history of rural life. From steam engines to wood saws, from fire engines to bicycles and with arts, crafts and our own little high street of shops, along with tractors and wagons hiding in wonderful barns and sheds, there is a lot to see and do on a day out. The museum is distributed over 15 acres of field, woodland and buildings. The programme of events offers the perfect way to experience the museum as volunteers set about bringing the museum to life educating and entertaining visitors with crafts, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Working weekends and Activity Thursdays are great for this. Special events run throughout the year including classic vehicle rallies, fire engine weekend, Land Rover meet, steam rally, family activities and spring and summer fairs. We host corporate events, team days and have private hire opportunities too.
