Rutherford is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hudaco Trading (Pty) Ltd and a value added company distributing world renowned brands through its four divisions, each one a leader in it’s category: Rutherford is a BEE compliant level 4 company. Makita of Japan with its range of industrial power tools is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial power tools with eight factories strategically located around the world. Rutherford is the sole distributor in Southern Africa and has been exclusive for the past 40 years. Rutherford Marine has sole distribution rights for the Mercury and Mariner range of outboards and MerCruiser inboards, along with the Quicksilver range of marine oils and accessories. V.I. Instruments is the sole importer of the Topcon range of survey equipment, which involves Levels, Total Stations, Global Positioning and Machine Control Systems. They are also the exclusive importer of the world-renowned Troxler nuclear density gauges and the market leader in compaction measurements for road construction. F.T.S Industries is the largest importer and distributor of blind rivets to all sectors of the industry. They also stock a complete range of riveting tools. All of the above are distributed through our branches in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, where we employ a total of approximately 200 staff.
