S & C Ltd were founded in 1999 by Gareth Carter. Previously Gareth had trained and worked as a cabinet maker and furniture restorer for 7 years. Gareth has a workshop situated in West Point Industrial Estate Cardiff, where he restores the majority of furniture offsite, however onsite services are also available. Gareth has over 28 years experience. Andrew Chubb a qualified carpenter, who works alongside Gareth, has worked at S & C for over 15 years now. Services: Modern and antique furniture restoration which includes: * Repairs to damaged furniture from fire / flood damage * Shellac re-polishing by hand of antique furniture * Re-lacquering of modern finishes with spray applied lacquers * Wax finishing of farmhouse style furniture * Re-joining of old and modern furniture where glue joints / frames have failed * Removal of heat / Water marks from surface polish * Re-veneering of damaged furniture with loose / missing veneer * Wood turning on lathe of damaged or missing legs / rails, etc * Construction of damaged or missing timber framing on furniture * Colour matching lacquer service * Woodworm treatment and repair of infested furniture * Re-upholstery service available * Ozone treatment for smoke damaged furniture * Collection / Delivery of furniture can be arranged, dependant on logistics * On site restoration - Interior woodwork, antique panelling, stairway & Bannister, Fireplace, Interior doors, furniture in situ
