About S.H.I.F.T.
About our Programs S.H.I.F.T. operates several regular programs, serving the area known as South Simcoe, for those that are experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity. Outreach Program With a specific focus on prevention of homelessness – serving those living with low-income throughout South Simcoe, the goal of the Outreach Program is to connect individuals, couples, and families to urgently needed supplies, services, and supports as well as provide emergency assistance to those at-risk of or experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity (housed or otherwise). Community Dinner Program This program is separate from the Emergency Overnight Shelter (EOS) Program. The Community Dinner program is available daily during the operating season from 5:30PM to 7:00PM. This meal is open to anyone in the community looking for a warm meal and some friendship. Emergency Overnight Shelter (EOS) Program Offers overnight shelter to individuals and couples experiencing homelessness during the winter months. As a short-term, housing-focused shelter, the program is intended to bridge the gap between entering into homelessness and moving into safe and sustainable housing. Daytime Drop-In Centre Program The Daytime Drop-In program is operated café-style that offers a warm place for vulnerable populations to access during the daytime hours. As a daytime, drop-in centre, the program is open to anyone experiencing homelessness, as a safe, warm place to get/stay warm throughout the day and access food and housing-related supports.
