About SACRI-Senior Agenda Coalition of RI
The Senior Agenda Coalition of Rhode Island is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) comprised of agency and individual members. Our mission is to mobilize people to achieve power in order to improve the quality of life of older Rhode Islanders. We accomplish this through community organizing, public education and legislative advocacy. The goal of the Senior Agenda Coalition’s advocacy efforts is to promote changes – in policies, attitudes and actions. Our Coalition is dedicated to building a strong system of supports for older adults to help them live healthy and independent lives in the community, and to receive quality long term supports when they are needed. We work to educate our Governor, our lawmakers and local leaders about the valuable contributions older adults bring to our state and the critical issues that challenge them – issues such as transportation, home and community services, economic insecurity and caregiver supports. We conduct an annual Legislative Leaders Forum in the Spring where we present legislative and budget priorities to state leaders. The Coalition also hosts an annual Conference and Expo in the Fall, featuring noted speakers, issue-oriented panels, and exhibitors of services and products related to older adults. One of the Coalition's greatest strengths is our ability to engage our coalition members in our mission and work collaboratively with other organizations. Interested in amplifying your voice as part of a collective larger voice? Consider joining our coalition! Together, we can create more of an impact and influence meaningful change.
