About Safe Roots Housing: In 2018 a group of like -minded individuals made it their mission to set up a supported accommodation programme for ex-offenders. Having worked within the field collectively for 25 years plus, the team at Safe Roots Housing identified gaps in service provision for ex-offenders and noted the lack of appropriate housing available to them upon release; thus the concept of Safe Roots Housing was born. Safe Roots Housing works with communities and individuals to provide safe environments that can be used as a platform to build positive futures. We believe every person deserves a chance at life. We offer direction, guidance and support to secure appropriate accommodation, gain skills to live independently and the confidence to enter further education/training, with a view to securing employment and/or volunteering opportunities. Providing Supported Accommodation for adults aged 18 and over, with no age limit. We currently have 29 properties in the City and the County and we are able to house up to 80 individuals at any one time. Our mission, aims and objectives: Safe Roots is supported accommodation our criteria is inclusive of service users that are marginalised in society and therefore to be eligible for housing with SRH, service users will have to demonstrate that they are experiencing at least three out of the following four complex needs; homelessness; substance misuse; mental health; current or past involvement with the criminal justice system. Our services: Safe Roots Housing offers tailor made programmes to our service users. Working with people where they are at, opposed to where society dictates that they should be at. We offer an holistic wrap around service for our service user’s aiming to build safer communities and promote community cohesion.
