Safe Shelter is a 20 bed emergency shelter formed to accommodate families and individuals in Asheville, NC and the surrounding WNC area. Safe Shelter prioritizes and welcomes intact families that are not able to stay together in traditional shelters and has trauma-informed staff who welcome BIPOC and LGBTQ+ guests. More than just a safe place to sleep, Safe Shelter prioritizes creating a communal atmosphere and uses a Housing First model and a strong network of community volunteers and partners to connect guests with housing and other resources.
