Safeguarding Analytics is a company at the forefront of using predictive analytics within children’s and adult’s safeguarding to support identify children and adults at future and current risk of harm. Safeguarding Analytics brings together two of the recognised experts in the field – Simon Holmes and Fiona Bohan. Together, they have made a significant contribution to the emerging use of analytics in the early identification of potential future harm to children. The pair are totally dedicated to the cause. Safeguarding Analytics have developed a suite of 3 forms of predictive analytics for a variety of public bodies to use within the safeguarding arena. Predictive Risk Model Initially designed for use within the environment of a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) but with clear crossover potential for other areas of safeguarding. The model is designed with a scientific evidence base, for the early identification of children who are referred through the MASH system and are statistically the most likely to be subjected to harm in the future Social Network Analysis for Child Exploitation Networks Uses Social Network Analysis in the context of child vulnerability such as child drug running, gangs, child sexual exploitation and other exploitative areas. Our analytical model utilises partnership intelligence, identifying children who maybe at risk of both current and future harm. The analysis will also identify individuals, who if targeted in an investigation, are statistically likely to cause the disintegration of the network. Risk Terrain Modelling Risk Terrain Modelling is employed to identify locations where there is a greater likelihood for child harm to occur in the future. Our approach maps and weights scientifically evidenced risk factors linked to child harm, so that locations are identified not just because child harm has historically taken place there but because the environmental conditions are right for it to occur in the future.
