About Safer Birth in Bama
Safer Birth in Bama is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to high-quality, evidence-based maternity care across Alabama—especially in rural and underserved communities. We support OB/GYNs, Family Physician Obstetricians, Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), and Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) working to improve outcomes for mothers and babies in all birth settings. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to bridge traditional wisdom and modern medicine and build a stronger, more resilient maternal health system. We’ve partnered with hospitals to provide equipment that supports lower-intervention, evidence-based care, helping ensure every family—regardless of location—has access to safe and informed birth options. Our goal is to see improved outcomes for mothers and babies, along with increased patient satisfaction scores for our hometown hospitals and birth centers—because better care starts with better support.
