About Safer Together SF Bay Area
Safer Together is a health equity nonprofit revolutionizing community health in San Francisco. We hire from the communities we serve to co-create programs that build community capacity and agency in order to transform structural health and socio-economic outcomes for our most divested and vulnerable communities of color in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our current programs include providing care navigation, health education, and free tools such as air filtration and air monitoring devices to help prevent and manage respiratory illnesses as well as asthma prevention/remediation/management while advocating for environmental justice under our Safer Air program. With our Safer Care program we continue to provide health education and tools to combat our fentanyl crisis, from Naloxone for overdose reversal to safe use supplies and Hepatitis C testing which are critical to preventing the spread of diseases as well as care navigation to treatment and management of individualized care plans. Excitingly, we are developing our new workforce development program called our Community Health Worker (CHW) Pipeline to expand our revolutionary care model that works. It will provide community members from the communities we serve the opportunity to become CHW certified with quality, well compensated job placement at the end of their training and certification; therefore transforming lives with economic mobility and opportunities in addition to transforming individual and community health.
