💚 About Sage Compassion for Animals Sage Compassion for Animals works at the powerful intersection of animal and human welfare, providing life-saving financial support to pets and the people who love them. In the Bay Area alone, over 1.5 million families live in low to very low income households — many caring for beloved companion animals without the resources for emergency veterinary care. We believe no family should be forced to choose between financial survival and a pet’s life. Since 2020, we’ve helped prevent suffering and unnecessary euthanasia by providing over $1 million in grants to help families afford critical care for their pets. With the support of 45+ veterinary partners, we’ve saved nearly 400 pets, ensuring each is spayed or neutered as part of our commitment to long-term wellbeing and prevention. We also play a vital role in addressing compassion fatigue among veterinarians, giving hospitals the ability to say “YES” when pets’ lives hang in the balance. From emergency aid to community education, we serve all nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area, building a more compassionate world — one animal, one family, and one life at a time.
