Our hospital is a general medical and surgical tertiary facility. Founded in 1878, SGHUMC is the oldest hospital in Lebanon with now 141 years of Life Legacy - and the tradition continues. Our American, Canadian and French trained physicians bring a wealth of experience into a University Medical Center affiliated with the University of Balamand. Saint George Hospital is a not for profit community hospital owned by the Orthodox Church of Beirut. The Hospital is reputed for its outstanding physicians and its constant expansions of existing facilities and medical Centers of Excellence. Our historical engagement in the community made of us a Hospital without walls with decades of service in all the Lebanese districts through annual free community health screenings for the prevention of chronic diseases. Those "Health Fairs" became our CSR trademark.
