About SalmonState

We are an Alaska-based organization working to ensure Alaska remains the Salmon State: the last, best place for wild salmon and the ways of life they make possible. We work with fishermen, Tribes, Native corporations and Tribal entities, lawmakers, scientists, professionals, and Alaskans across the political spectrum. In the last few years we’ve been a part of the successful work to defend Bristol Bay from the proposed Pebble Mine; keep Southeast Alaska’s rainforest ecosystem and wild salmon streams working for Alaskan hunters, fishermen, and communities; and finalize protections for 28 million acres of D1 Alaska lands, ensuring they will remain intact and healthy for the communities, businesses, Alaskans, and Tribes who use them for hunting, fishing, gathering, and more.
