About Samling Institute for Young Artists
Nurturing Talent, Mastering Technique, Inspiring Excellence Samling Institute is recognised as a leading authority in the training of young classical voices and piano accompanists. Founded in 1996, we have built a global family of artists, many of whom return to pass on their expertise to the next generation, ensuring that song and opera continue to thrive. We do this through three distinct but closely linked programmes which form a virtuous circle of musical excellence. The Samling Artist Programme offers intensive residential masterclass weeks followed by performance and development opportunities to early-career singers and pianists. Samling Academy draws on the expertise of our Samling Artist Programme to give young people who live or study in the region from the Tweed to the Tees life-changing opportunities to develop their talent in classical singing through coaching and performance. Samling Futures supports classical singing in state schools through workshops and masterclasses led by Samling Artists and Academy Singers. We are a registered charity and charge no tuition fees – talent, potential and dedication are the only criteria for admission.
