About San Diego Brewcycling Collaborative
Bringing the San Diego Craft Beverage Community together in order to sort, separate, and properly recycle brewery waste to be responsibly processed. San Diego's first recycling cooperative for the craft brewing industry! In addition to general curbside recyclables, we work to independently divert & ensure recycling of single-stream: - Film Plastics including Shrink Wrap - Malt & Grain Bags - Plastic Beverage Toppers* - Cardboard - Aluminum *Public drop off for our Plastics to Pavement Recycling Program is available today at participating locations: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/1/edit?mid=1qrUuTW5JZzHupSid3VSohaSjJQerN6Y&usp=sharing The plastic beverage toppers collected at our drop off locations will be recycled by MacRebur Southern California into plastic roads, reducing the need for virgin materials to create asphalt while providing an opportunity to divert waste plastic from the landfill. A study conducted at EDCO Escondido’s MRF found that this material more often than not isn’t recognized by machinery, resulting in plastic beverage toppers recycled in local curbside systems typically becoming trash.
