About San Diego County Orchid Society
The San Diego County Orchid Society (SDCOS) is a 450+ member not for profit whose mission is: To promote interest in orchids and their cultivation, to educate by exchanging information and experiences related to successful orchid culture, and to support the conservation of orchids in the wild. SDCOS is based in Balboa Park, San Diego. Meetings open to the public on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM, except December. At the monthly meetings, 2 orchid speakers present talks, refreshments are served, and there is a plant show and tell for orchids that people brought in. SDCOS hosts quarterly orchid shows in Balboa Park, Casa del Prado room 101. These shows are held on the last full weekend in July, October, and January, as well as a rotating weekend every April.
