About San Francisco Public Golf Alliance
The goal of the San Francisco Public Golf Alliance is to preserve affordable, eco-friendly golf in San Francisco for future generations of golfers by making sure that Sharp Park and Lincoln Park golf courses remain open for play. Our purpose is to research and educate the public about recreational facilities in San Francisco, specifically about the beneficial aspects of San Francisco’s endangered municipal golf courses. We collect, analyze and provide historical, cultural, recreational, financial and community data about these courses to the public, media and key policy decision makers. Our priority is to work with environmentalists, historic preservationists, golfers, political leaders and governmental agencies at all levels of government in San Francisco, Pacifica, and San Mateo County to develop a financially sound plan to save the MacKenzie golf shrine of Sharp Park and scenic Lincoln Park. Our plan includes a commitment to improve the natural habitat while preserving affordable public golf.
