SANAL | Sustainable Alternative for Non-polluting Acclimate Living In order to reduce the usage of plastic carry bags among people, we have started selling premium quality cotton bags. Then we started it as a 99% plastic free international showroom named சநல் - சமுதாய நலனில் in 2017 at Thiruvannamalai. We realised the real impact of plastic waste-in landfills then we have started our research towards the daily essentials replacing plastics. Later in 2021 we transformed SANAL as an acronym of “Sustainable Alternative for Non-polluting Acclimate Living” In the year 2023 on 5th June - World Environment day, we have initiated an awareness campaign called SANAL Ecopod. It is an electric three wheeler designed as a mobile kiosk which has an awareness on sustainability in the form of Sign boards, Road shows and Plastic alternatives, etc. we run around our city and it can also open as a shop for selling eco alternatives. Over decades or even centuries, much of the littered and landfilled plastic breaks down into tiny particles known as microplastics, which contaminate our food, the air, and water. They also accumulate in our bodies, potentially increasing our risk of human lives and also disturbs the environmental balance. SANAL educates people on how to start using less plastic so as to prevent the impacts of climate change. Once the Eco friendly products reach peoples’ hands easily then they stop consuming plastics automatically.
