About Sandler Search Consulting
I started Sandler Search Consulting in 2001 and have always specialized exclusively in the placement of employee benefits lawyers across the country. I have over 20 years of experience as a practicing benefits lawyer at Rosenman Colin (now Katten Muchin Rosenman) and Schulte Roth in New York (where I was their first counsel). I also was an equity partner at Saul Ewing in Philadelphia for ten years where I Chaired the Employee Benefits Practice Group and was on the Hiring Committee. I started my career at the Department of Labor in Washington. I place associates, partners and practice groups on a nationwide basis. I moved Howard Shapiro's 15 lawyer group to Proskauer. I also placed Greg Braden in the Washington, D.C. office of Morgan Lewis and I placed Chris Rillo at Groom in Washington (he is now at Schiff Hardin). Each of these nationally renowned ERISA practitioners has agreed to be a reference for me. The difference with my approach to recruiting is that because I work only in my old practice area, with which I try to stay conversant, I can discuss with the firm or company precisely what they are looking for and how the right candidate would fit into the firm or company and its ERISA practice. I make it a point to meet with candidates to assess their employee benefits experience, personality and career aspirations. As a result of this process, there is a significantly higher likelihood of finding a position for a candidate that is a "fit" for both the candidate and the firm or company, which is, of course, the ultimate goal. Sandler Search Consulting is a member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants and adheres to its published standard of ethics.
