About Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting the prosperity of its members and preserve the quality of life of our community. With over 600 active Chamber members from both islands including businesses from Lee and Collier counties, the Chamber plays a key role in facilitating communication and cooperation between business, residents and government to enhance the economic health of the islands. The very popular Chamber Visitor Center, located on the right at the exit from the causeway, welcomes over 190,000 visitors each year. The Center, open 365 days a year, is the welcome center to the Islands, providing visitors with comprehensive information about things to do, places to visit and where to stay, to shop and to dine. The Chamber website www.sanibel-captiva.org gets an impressive 1.5 million unique visitors per year. The lush and tropical islands of Sanibel and Captiva in Southwest Florida are the true paradise location you have always dreamed of. Sanibel and Captiva islands are the perfect choice for a getaway vacation, a romantic stay, a family trip, a nature retreat or just the place you want to call home. Enjoy 15 miles of unspoiled beaches, 22 miles of bike paths, 50 species of fish, 230 types of birds, 250 types of shells and 0 stop lights. We have many different attractions, such as the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge and the nature preserve. Outdoor activities include fishing, shelling, biking, bird watching, boating, golfing and snorkeling… to name just a few. Sanibel Island measures roughly 12 miles long and three miles across at its widest point. Captiva Island has more compact measurements of approximately four miles long and half a mile wide. The feature that sets Sanibel and Captiva apart is the one that everyone looks for and is the hardest to find: the relaxation that comes from perfect tranquility.
