Sankofa Learning Initiatives We publish coloring and activity books designed to bring pride to children who are descendants of enslaved people. In our books, slavery is presented in context in order to show that slavery was meant to dehumanize a group of people and to force them to work to enrich others. It conveys that the institution of slavery never took their humanity and ability to achieve greatness. Through our books, it is a hope that the children will learn that they can overcome adversity in their lives—just like their ancestors.
