About Santa Monica Montessori School
The Santa Monica Montessori School was established in 1957. With assistance from internationally known Montessori educators Ruth Dresser, Claude Claremont, Francesca Claremont, and Mario Montessori, the school was able to grow in size and expand its program. Now, 65 years after establishment, and under the guidance of Director Pamela Crisman, the school continues to uphold the philosophy and values of Montessori education. A Montessori education guides children in developing a lifelong love of learning. Students grow to become capable adults who have a strong sense of self, an ability to connect and understand others, and the potential to be productive throughout their lives. Santa Monica Montessori School strives to guide students into developing their fullest physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual potential.
