About Santersus

Santersus AG has developed a unique strategy for the therapeutic treatment of patients in a variety of areas through the selective extra corporeal removal of NETs and cell free DNA from blood, using our patented NucleoCapture apheresis device. NucleoCapture blood purification technology is based on biocompatible, highly porous polymer beads conjugated with proprietary human recombinant histone H1.3 protein. Histone H1.3 protein was developed by nature to be the ultimate human DNA binding and compacting protein and is a potent sensor and effector of the ancient innate immune defence system with single digit nanomolar DNA binding constants. As a result, the single pass of NET and cfDNA-contaminated blood through our NucleoCapture device, results in over 95% removal of NETs. In contrast to any potential pharmacological intervention targeting NETs, Santersus’ technology allows safe removal of NETs from blood without compromising the defensive function of neutrophils. We aim to disrupt any current model of therapeutic apheresis in multiple areas of critical care. We have had phenomenal feedback from our diagnostic capability feasibility study which will lead to further development and market achievement in 2021.
