Situated just two miles from the Gaza border, Sapir College stands as Israel’s only academic institution in the Gaza Envelope, serving as a beacon of education, innovation, and regional development. From its beginnings as a regional vocational center, Sapir has grown into a dynamic institution, educating over 7,000 students in both academic and vocational programs across disciplines such as social work, law, film, public policy, technology, and entrepreneurship. At Sapir, rigorous academic study is paired with practical, career-focused training, equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and resilience to thrive in a complex world. The College is deeply committed to fostering social impact, regional growth, and community empowerment, acting as a catalyst for innovation, job creation, and meaningful change across Israel’s southern periphery. In the aftermath of the tragic events of October 7, in which 47 students were killed and many more affected, Sapir reaffirmed its mission to drive hope, resilience, and renewal through education.
